Christmas speedpaints

Because I'm a boring person, here are some speedpaints from the past couple of weeks. (From Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol):
I know. Rehash. Zzzzz.

But look at what I found at the library--
Did you even know they made this book? It was like Christmas all over again!

And now, a plug:
These past couple years I've been lucky enough to attend the BYU writers & illustrator's workshop. It's a good place to go to meet talented story people and improve skillz. This year it's June 14-18. Here's the website.

I volunteered the dirigible from a couple of pictures back. I kinda like how it turned out.

  2. Educate the ignorant: does speedpaint just mean you paint really fast?

    Is that the official flyer?

    You are so cool.

  3. WIFYR is going to be in SANDY this year? Wow - that's sad. I enjoyed the chance to visit BYU campus while going to the workshop. But I'm excited to see Waterford, where my sister Rachel used to work.

  4. Urg. Heather, you're just too good. I think I love pretty much everything about these layouts.

  5. Thanks for the link! I've been looking all over for info on where and when it would be this year. Thank you!!

    Plus, I love the dirigible.

  6. @Mary - Yeah, pretty much. Usually there's a set time to do it in. Like, these were 30 min each.

  7. The colors and style remind me of the old Bullwinkle & Rocky cartoons. Fantastic!

Curious: are you drawing them out first (pencil or stylus), or are you creating them from blank page to finish in just 30 minutes? If so, I'm going to start calling you Wonder Woman from here on out.

  8. @Ken - I'm just painting onto blank page (or, blank composition). But the picture is right next to it, so I can continually look at it while I'm painting. So not amazingly amazing, but you can still call me Wonder Woman if you want!
