These are a couple of t-shirt designs I did for my cousins' elementary school. I'm posting them because, well. This is an art blog. I gotta post art things.
Now, the important stuff.
Barbie's lame-o 2009 career (race car driver) is now at an end, and you can vote on her next career HERE. You can choose between a surgeon, news anchor, an architect, an enviromentalist. (An enviromentalist? I mean, really? Is that really a job?) And, a computer engineer who designs video games. I think we all know what I voted for.
Voting ends February 12th and we can't let Barbie end up as something lame! VOTE. LIKE, NOW. Tricky hint: you can refresh the page and vote over and over again. I'm paying 3 Peruvian orphans 25 cents an hour to do just that. If you're afraid of being caught on the barbie.com website (coward) then at least vote here on the sidebar. Barbie should have a COOL career, dang it!
You're hilarious - we should hang out again. You can even bring the Peruvian orphans along. Are you sure that you don't want Barbie to be an environmentalist? It could make for quite a dramatic movie when she has to live in a treetop for weeks so they won't cut it down. Where is she going to keep all her shoes? Like I said, fraught with drama.

Heather, this is hilarious! It was really hard to pick which one to vote for. Who wouldn't want to see Barbie wrestling crocs or throwing knives or writing fortunes that say "Help, I'm trapped in the basement and they're forcing me to write fortunes for you."... Then they could make an epic barbie movie about Ken defying all odds to rescue the fortune cookie slave!

ReplyDeleteI don't get the environmentalist as a career, but I can see how they'd make that work from a clothing and accessories angle.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't get is how do you dress her up for the game designer job? If they're true to the industry I'm familiar with, she might look even more hippie/granola girl as a game designer than as an "environmentalist."
I hope you voted for the surgeon! The images are too enticing- and I'd like to see Barbie in scrubs... and booties.

ReplyDeleteDarn You Heather! You got me looking at the Barbie contest results! My eyeballs nearly got burned out of my head by too much pink. Looks like she is going to be a News Anchor this year. Second runner up was computer geek.
