Jolly Holiday

Now then, what'd be nice...
We'll start with raspberry ice
And then, some cakes and tea
Order what you will--there'll be no bill!
It's complimentary!

Did it drive anyone else crazy that Mary and Bert never got their food? I mean--free food! I'd be gorging myself!

I have a sister named Mary who's so much fun, she really does make life a jolly holiday. So this picture is for her. Luv you Mar!

  1. This type of thing always bothers me in movies, especially in this case because like you said, free food! It's like waking up from a dream just as you were sitting down to a fancy dinner.

I like how unconcerned with the whole ordeal Mary is. Although I find myself wishing Bert looked a little more concerned, even though I know DVD (hey!) would be smiling if the same thing happened in the movie. Also, nice use of the spatter airbrush!

  2. I'm just laughing right now - I felt the EXACT same way when I watched it (and we're talking just about everyday for a while there)as a kid. I swear, you and I were meant to be friends.

Please keep doing the Mary Poppins pictures. I love them!! Not that I didn't love the crocodile wrestler Barbie...

  3. Scott made me teach him all of the words to that song when he started asking Mary out. :)

  4. "It's true that Mavis and Sybil 'ave ways that are winning, and Prudence and Gwendolyn set your 'eart spinning..."
My wife's name is Mary... I sing this song a lot at home.
    Great piece, btw. Nicely stylized.

  7. Awwww! Thanks, sis! I love it.
I remember blushing when watching that part of the movie. I blushed in church too every time they mentioned Mary in the Chrstmas story:)

  8. Yeah, it reminds me of your sister Mary too! And she's 'practically perfect' too!

  9. I really like this piece. The shapes and colors are handled so delicately. I especially like the little penguin holding onto Mary's dress! Very Cute.

  10. Hi Heather, I love the new work on your blog! The Mary Poppins pics are especially good, I love that movie (don't tell anyone, keep it hush-hush!)

Book news: Barry has gotten back to me, so I believe he's putting together his bio etc. for me. Dave the Chimp sent me a funny pic of Product Two, so we can use as leverage to get him to send me a better picture. I'd show you, but you'd probably not want to see it! So Product Two has accepted our leverage and will send me a suitable picture as soon as he's back from holiday. Mwah-ha-ha! Any time now, we'll be approaching publishers. Can't wait!

Yay on the book news! I'm so excited to see how it all turns out! Thanks for all your hard work--it's going to be great.
