Fun runs

My aunt is in charge of the elementary school's Fun Run, and asked me to do a shirt design for them. For me, running requires...motivation, so I made this:

About 3/4ths of the way through I woke up and thought: What am I DRAWING??

So I did a new PTA-acceptable design.

I like 'em both.

ALSO: in response to folks asking if there were more boy-centric coloring pages for the contest (which ends in just 11 days!), here's one:

And yes, I'm serious, it really does count towards the coloring contest. Why does everyone always think I'm joking??

    I love the first shirt design! I'm one of those runners - this girl isn't moving anywhere fast unless flying monkeys are chasing me (or I'm late to see Mama Mia on Broadway).

    I got your book this week! Also, you probably already know this, but Entwined was one of the Best of the Month for Young Adult picks on Amazon for April! Awesome!

    I have a question on the contest: if we don't have a scanner (or can't find it because it's packed in a box in storage somewhere) can we take a picture of the entries and email them to you as well?

    Ahahaha, that first shirt is awesome! You should take out the words and submit it to Threadless, I would totally buy it. Also, I have been debating which one of the princesses to color...and the dinosaur picture just decided me. I love dinosaurs! (Although I don't think I want to meet a real one, since they eat girrrrls and I am one).

    You should submit the first design, and if they say 'no', show them the boys coloring page. Make sure they understand that people without a good sense of adventure (or humor) get eaten by dinosaurs first. If they still protest, then give them the second and say, "you'd best be watchin' for the t-rex!"

    Have I said how much I love your blog, Heather? Seriously, it fills a void in my otherwise boring and dreary life.

    I was going to ask how I could get the first design on a shirt my size. Seriously.

    And hooray for the boy coloring contest picture! I sent the girly ones off to my niece and I'm going to get Max coloring this one! He'll love it!

    The second design is reminiscent of a Cthulhu snatching up children and tossing them into the air, so maybe in essence it's no different than the first design.

    Aw thanks everyone! And good noose--My aunt chose the first! (She'll have to get it approved with the principle first, though, so we'll see if it passes.)

    @Jennilyn - But of course! Pictures are great. ^_^

    @Sam - It IS a child-eating Cthulhu. It's all subliminal though, the kids will never know.

    Hey, Mela! At this point it looks like the book will be translated into German, Italian, and Portuguese, but so far Spanish is up in the air. I hope so!

    Hah! I found your blog as someone who is a Entwined book fan, only to discover that I have this shirt! I personally would wear the Oz shirt far more than the champion cup thingy, but at least I earned that shirt fair and square by being drug around the mile course by my 4 year old who refused to run even a tiny bit. My 6 year old lapped us.
