Any board/card game that you can't figure out how to play after watching the other players in the circle do their turns was designed to be more like a special club than an actual game. People who belong to the club will angrily deny that this is true.
This is every time I go to my in-laws. My husband and his brother and father are RUTHLESS!! I just sit in a corner and crochet now, and secretly tremble in fear on the inside.
I think it is more an attitude than the actual game. People who are cutthroat and want to pulverize people as opposed as to having an enjoyable time can make any game unpleasant--well, for others anyway... :)
@Anonymous 8:48 - Ah! Well--it was my fiance. He broke up with me a few weeks ago. A month before the wedding! But, much better it all happen before the wedding than after!
Me with Every Game Ever
ReplyDeleteI relate to this so much
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how I feel in all these card games now! What happened to Sorry? Monopoly? Go Fish? UNO?! Now those, I understand.
ReplyDeleteHi Heather! I want to contact you but I can't find your email. Help?

ReplyDeleteHello, Sarah Loves Books! I hope you can forgive the late response. You can track me down at storyboarder(at)gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteI think we must have played this game with the same person first time . . . exactly my experience. A little mercenary.
ReplyDeleteWho's the guy you're with in the first picture? Is he someone special?
