Ice rink

There's an outdoor ice skating rink near where I live, with a big Christmas tree that everyone skates around. It's really pretty and inspired me to do a quickie.

It's free and skate rental is only a buck I think.

We took our young women's group there this past week. I'm always apprehensive about doing stuff like this, because -no fail- whenever I'm in a big group that does skating or dodgeball or sledding, someone always gets hurt. This is because I'm curséd. I warned them as we put on ice skates, but no one listened.

Sure enough, fifteen minutes in...
Broken wrist*. The girl says I can sign her cast though, so all's well that ends well.

*I did warn them

  1. I had to laugh at this post. I remember when I was in junior high and wanted more than anything to break my leg like the girl down the street did in a skiing accident. It of course, was never to be as I didn't ski, but that didn't stop me from wanting the attention a broken leg would have given me. But I can't help but wonder if this broken wrist just might have made that girls day! Just wondering!

  5. @Mary - hahaha! I'd nearly forgotten about that. No, no breaks via squashing, but if no one had gotten hurt by the end, I would've had to take things into my own hands. I do have a reputation to maintain, after all.

@Emerson, Aaron, Julie, & Artur - cheers cheers cheers & felicidades!
