Trailer final

It usually takes me about 3 complete redo's of a project before I'm pointed in the right direction.

Here's a sampling of the early draft:

Ok, 13 seconds is pleeeenty.

Final draft of the trailer ended up more like this:

And here's the final!
Lots of thanks to pass around--Alex Bell, who helped me with the AfterEffects stuff, rendering and the 3D butterfly (I owe you man), Matt Gates, who composed the beautiful and haunting music, and for the images: Etsy, istockphoto, and especially The Graphics Fairy.  Also, thanks to Greenwillow, who gave me the opportunity.

  1. Very nice, I have watched it over and over again. I love it!

I have to admit I also like the early draft with the princesses doing the flying leap and the littlest princess doing that graceful little face plant. Kind of funny!

  6. Very nice--and yes, AJ's butterfly-animating prowess is WELL-KNOWN. By the way, I plan on reading Entwined very soon--it's on-order at our local library and we're first in line on the HOLD list for it! (Yes, I'm too cheap to buy books--but I pretty much got the library to buy it for me!)

  7. @Andy - I happen to know that you are an AfterEffects King as well! It's a great skill you have.

Aaaand as for the book, yay for having it on hold! That drives the demand up you know. ;)

  8. Hi, Heather! You may or may not remember me... I'm jeweledeyes on Livejournal <3 I'm actually reading Entwined right now, and it made me want to check in and see how you're doing. :-) And I am loving this trailer and the coloring book pages! It's great to help visualize the characters. Anyway, I hope you've been doing well!

  10. Aww, shucks :-D I've been fine, not much is new... so boring lol XD I just finished reading Entwined an hour or two ago and I LOVED it. You know I love the fairytales, so it was right up my alley! You did a really great job, Heather! Are you going to write any more books? (I mean, not necessarily in that series, but in general)

  11. Oh wow!! ^_^ I'm so glad you liked it. Hooray!! You rock. (And you made me rich by buying the book. Just sayin.)

I'm working on a second book right now (I'm under contract) and it's more of an action-based steampunk, so that's fun. It's a standalone too. It has evil circuses. There can never be too many clowns.

  12. Nice trailer! I just finished the audiobook this morning--and I adored it! Thank you so much for a great story!

And am I reading right that you are a fellow BYU alum? Sweet!

  13. Isn't the audiobook read so well? The reader (Mandy Williams) did such a stellar job. I remember wondering how she would do 12 different princess voices, and I was blown away. Win yes.

And yes I hail from BYU! That is such a great school, I'm so fortunate to have gone there ^_^ <3
