Thanksgiving Movie

I'm a really fun person to watch movies with.

Addendum:  Thank you so much for the kind words on the new blog design!  It was a long time coming.  We should do something to celebrate...like maybe seeing a movie or something...?*

*But only if you've read the book

  1. I an just like you! And the person you are sitting with! I am two in one! Only I'm usually more animated, like "AGH THIS DID NOT HAPPEN THE BOOK!!!" or "THAT HAPPENED DIFFERENTLY IN THE BOOK!!!" or (my personal favorite) "WHERE DID "THAT" PERSON COME FROM???" (I am glaring at YOU Tauriel!) Yes, movies based on books are rarely as good as the books. Except "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" was pretty good (the others were rubbish) and the LotR movies were okay, they did deviate from the book in ways I did NOT approve of, but all in all, they were pretty good. "The Hobbit" movies have greatly disappointed me, however. (Thorin, Fili and Kili had WIMP beards [also, Fili and Kili were BOTH supposed to have YELLOW beards. *glares at Kili*]. That was the worst thing EVER. They should have had long, majestic beards and they got the wimpiest ones. WHY? WHY?) Gah! But I shall desist. Movies always disappoint me when (supposedly) based off of books. I shall go cry in a corner.

  2. 1. This is sooooo me with Harry Potter. I don't know why, but I do not remember those books (especially the last two) at all. I always have to ask my sister what happened, or what things were. (Such as the Deathly Hallows. I still don't remember what they are or how they work, even though she's explained it at least 4 times).

    2. I love the new layout! It's adorable!

    3. Did you know that Entwined is a #1 bestseller on Amazon right now? It just informed me. #1 in "Teen Dance Novels" (who knew that was even a genre?) CONGRATS OMG

  3. My family hates watching movies with me because I give commentary; sometime it's helpful, sometimes not so helpful.
Oh, and Elsabet, about the beards, I'm sure that was made to make Fili and especially Kili look younger, but Richard Armitage said he went digging for a reason why Thorin might have a short beard, and decided to go with the idea that Thorin wouldn't wear an honour denied to his father and grandfather, and it said their beards were singed when the escaped Smaug.
^commentary like that. Very much like that. To casual watchers.

  4. Yeah, I know for a fact that Fili and Kili's beards were down-sized to make them appear younger and handsomer etc. etc. blah blah blah (I STILL hate the people who did it, I am very partial to long beards, EXCESSIVELY partial. I also like sideburns, but mostly I like long sorta-J.E.B-Stuart-reminiscent-beards, but longer and with less mustache). That little bit about Thorin wearing a small un-majestic beard actually makes some sense. (Also, we should partner up and watch movies together, I am just like you, we could keep each other entertained movie/book commentary, I probably know more about the LotR movie related plot threads, cameo appearances, behind-the-scenes, character/costume design etc. than anyone else. To prove my knowledge: Did you know that The guy who played Gimli and the guy who played Treebeard were the same people. And that Gimli was actually one of the tallest people in the movie, being more than 6 feet tall, and that the guy who played Aragorn broke his toe kicking the Uruk-Hai helmet in that scene where He, Legolas and Gimli came upon the smoldering pile of burned orcs while looking for the hobbits, so his scream was of pain, not frustration, but he was a great actor and kept on with the scene and the director liked it so much he put it in the movie?)

  5. We watched the whole series (but for Halloween instead of Thanksgiving)

But the right response to almost any movie is an increase desire to read the books.

Especially when they make an "Entwined" movie... ;)

  6. Guys, we all need to watch a movie together.

And by watch, I mean, let it play in the background while we talk about it :) :)

@jeweledeyes - Holy moses! I didn't know that. {I don't keep tabs on a lot of that stuff.} Thanks for the heads up!

  7. If we ever meet IRL, remind me of never watching Game of Thrones next to you ;)

  8. Oh my gosh I love Harry Potter! And my mom is sort of like you, every two seconds she would ask 'Hannah, what's going on?' 'So wait, Snape really did like Lily?' 'Dumbledore is really alive or is he dead?' and so on and so on and so on. Life is hard when these things happen....
