Lately I've been doing Mr. Magoo speedpaints. I never liked UPA stuff much until I worked with Bryan Beach, whose retro stuff I really admire. Now I think UPA is juicy!
These were done with a custom flat brush & the square chalk in Painter. I can haz wanted to try one of my own:
I know, I know. Another Mary Poppins. Next post will have new subject matter, I swear. I don't want you guys to OD or anything. (Although it wouldn't be a bad way to die)
Love the new crib.
ReplyDeleteReally appealing Mary P., nice work!
ReplyDeleteI like the new blog. And I love your cover!! Are they going to give you the dress to wear to book signings? Because just think how fun that would be to navigate around a store!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful funderful! You don't have to make excuses, after all, Mary never explains anything.

Nice Magoo speedpaints. If you hadn't stated that, I would've never guessed.
Lovely, lovely! You're much too kind. Great work as always!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog. Your brother is one of my neighbors and mentioned your blog and that you are a story artist. Awesome blog, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping you would go with evilcookies for your new blog name, but story-monster is good too! Great illustrations, you are so talented!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather!
ReplyDeleteFor the non-artists among us, what is UPA? Utopian Painting Association?
Glenn
Hey Dad! UPA stands for United Productions of America, a company that started in the 1940s and started the retro/limited animation trend. Mr. magoo was their most popular.
ReplyDeleteKinda like Utopian Painting Association...I think that's my new name for it.
